Financial support comes from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) which, working through the World Bank, approved a grant of $22 million on March 14, 2008. The Caixa Econômica and Funbio will receive and manage these financial resources. The scope of the contract allows for an additional $75 million from government and private sector partners. Funbio will receive a total of US$ 7.5 million and will raise another US$ 22.5 million.
