Probio II is active in the following areas:

1. Prioritization of Biodiversity in Government - Aims to implement meaningful national policy on biodiversity and to promote the prioritization and integration of conservation and sustainability in government action in a range of economic sectors.

2. Prioritization of Biodiversity in the Private Sector - Seeks to incorporate conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in planning and practices of key players in the private sector. Funbio is responsible for this entail and the activities will focus on supporting the private sector in the process of adopting management practices and models that reduce environmental impact of the chain of production.

3. Improvement and Generation of Information on Biodiversity for Creation of Policy and Management -  The goals for this area are twofold: provide technical and organizational training for organizations responsible for biodiversity policymaking in Brazil; provide critical information on biodiversity to serve as a base for policymaking and project design for all sectors, in addition to monitoring Brazil’s progress on international commitments, such as the 2010 goals for CBD.

4.  Project Management - Will support the efficient execution, supervision, coordination and administration of projects.
